It is bittersweet that the NMRFA announces that at the last meeting of the NMRFA’s Board of Fire Commissioners, NMRFA Fire Commissioner Brooke Quigley announced her retirement from the Board after 16 wonderful years of service.  Commissioner Quigley joined the NMRFA Board of Fire Commissioners in 2006 shortly after her and her husband John Campbell moved to the Southshore area full time.  She joined the Board with no previous emergency service experience, but her background in academics, communications, and serving as a University professor were assets that the Authority continually capitalized on during her tenure.  Commissioner Quigley was instrumental in leading the fulltime staffing of the Collins Lake Fire Station, the 2014 formation of the Fire Authority, the annexation of the Tri-Lakes area into the NMRFA and the recent build of the NMRFA’s headquarters Fire Station in Belfair. Commissioner Quigley will continue to reside in the North Mason area and assist the NMRFA Board as an advisory member. Commissioner Quigley will be formally recognized for her service in February. Please join us in thanking Quigley for her exceptional service to our community.

With Commissioner Quigley’s retirement announcement, the NMRFA Board is seeking qualified applicants who may be interested in serving the Authority as a Fire Commissioner for the remainder of the year 2023.  Fire Commissioners meet twice a month to help establish policy and provide administrative direction for the Authority. Interested candidates must be legal U.S. Citizens who reside and who are registered to vote within the boundaries of the NMRFA. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and prepared resume to NMRFA Executive Assistant Angie McCormick by email at [email protected] or by mail to the NMRFA at PO Box 277, Belfair, WA 98528.  The NMRFA Board of Fire Commissioners will interview interested candidates and make a selection in February.
